Early 80s releases were produced by Ariola, as Virgin Germany was not established until late 1984.

http://www.mike-oldfield.es/mowd/itemdetail.asp?id=2001 release is INCORRECT: Ariola Benelux releases were distributed under STEMRA license until 1984. Early 1984 onwards releases were marketed by Virgin Germany under GEMA license for Germany, Austria and Benelux markets. Hence, this release should not be listed as Ariola Benelux. For the original colour sleeve, it seems it's original from 1981.

http://www.mike-oldfield.es/mowd/itemdetail.asp?id=63 release is IMHPOV a later-80s reissue, possibly from 1985 or 1987. Notice the original colour sleeve is replaced by a standard plain sleeve. Then, later-80s Virgin Germany re-issues labels got brighter colours and glossy paper (as opposed to Spanish later-80s reissues, which got duller colours in glossy paper).

http://www.argiers.com/images/lpsB/GermanyMusicWonderland_05_LabelA.jpg release might be the original and that would determine which one is the very 1st release indeed - the one with 2-line credits on label, or the 1-line credits one.

I've erased the 1 edition coment, but you say that Ariola benelux is incorrect because it should have been written STEMRA, but in label is written Ariola Benelux. And it also has inner sleeve with discography.

I don´t know how to order the three items properly

Ariola Benelux remained independent from Ariola (German Democratic Republic) until 1983.

Legally, all Benelux released had to be released under STEMRA license. From 1983 on, Ariola closed their Benelux subsidiary and released all singles and albums with GEMA/STEMRA license.

However, there is a little bit of confusion with releases from 1981-82: some of them were printed the "GEMA" logo but apparently distributed outside GDR. The only reliable source would be looking carefully at the matrix, even though both Benelux and German releases used the same master plates most of the times.

samuli2, I don't understand why you wrote that in my website I list the item as "1st edition". In my website, when I have the same item twice with small differences, the first one is the first I bought and the second one is the second I bought... This is the order I usually use. But I didn't write a word about first or second edition because I have no idea which one was first.

samuli2... ok, then I understand what you mean

I don't know why one is 1st and the other is 2nd edition. I just followed Rainer's comments:

(printed "Ariola-Benelux" on Label)
(printed "Ariola-Muenchen" on Label)

I added photos following Rainer's indications. Checking the labels that I added as photos, you can read
this Benelux and Muenchen on labels.

regards
flx
