I will receive video copy from this show recorded directly from studio masters....it will cost some money for me but if i get someone to design professional made menus, it will be released after.

I have chance to get either dvd or vhs copy and i havent decided which one i want to get...i dont even know if its stereo or mono but if i knew its stereo, i would go for vhs because of possibly lossless audio...but for now i probably decide to try dvd.

i need some hints to hunt roskilde 82, munchen 80 and 82 shows and viareggio 84...i would like to know producers and or tv channels where/when they was broadcasted...that way there would be chance to get good copy like from dortmund and san sebastian.

dortmund was rather easy but i dont think those others mentioned above are that difficult to find that this oldfield community couldnt get them from production company.

I could try to make these menus, i'm not a profesional but i think that i can do something nice. Maybe we can do a dvd collection about every tour, one design for all dvd of the same tour, change some color and if we know the number of dvd that are in every collection, could make a design in the lateral side to unify them.

it's only a idea

I can try to do some artwork if necessary ;) At first sight the better option is to choose DVD, so the transfer to DVD would also be a professional one but you're right about the sound probably being compressed. If you are going to pay for it, they can't tell you if the original recording is in mono or stereo, or if the provided DVD would have linear PCM sound (non compressed) or AC3 (compressed)?

The Viareggio show was broadcasted by the Rai. The others I don't know, both Munich shows maybe were broadcasted by the same channel than Dortmund. Roskilde I think it was broadcasted by the TV of Denmark, not sure if they had more than one channel at the time. You haven't ask about it, but if you're interested in broadcasted shows, the Edimburgh 80 one was originally broadcasted by the Scottish TV (STV).

my other roskilde 82 recording it says in beginning that roskilde 1982 lördag 1. juli 22:30-02:00...but that all i can see.

about edinburgh i think its not necessary to find better because current copy is good enough that it wouldnt make much difference to it...unless archive masters would include full show.

has anyone ordered this yet? http://www.mike-oldfield.es/verfoto.asp?id=7398

im interested to trade this high 8mbps (but shorter) version to the longer 225min (smaller bitrate) version so i could join missing taurus track to this recording to get complete show. Im not sure but atleast italian TV version misses TB part 2 which is included to German TV one and not sure if its exist in that 225min show.

but we need both versions to make one complete thing with best quality possible.

If the objective is to do a DVD to be shared, I think it can be payed by those interested in the show so it will be cheaper for everyone. Also, contributions can be done to help in the payment of the copy you already have. That way everybody can have a copy of the reworked complete show at a low cost. The more we are the less we'll pay. What do you all think?

its possible that i get copy soon so i can start work but still need some pro menu maker guy to complete dvd

also problem in my copy seems to be that it looks good with normal dvd player and in pc but looks kinda poor in dvd player that does 1080 upscaling...i dunno why so i may need adjust it for usage of hdmi dvd players.

i also heard that its "possible" to get master copy from RAI 1 from Viareggio 84 show but problem is that they only sell copies to tv stations and media productions companies, not inviduals...its possible but hard to get ;)

dortmund 80 project is done here. depends from other guy who provided me his version from this mastercopy am i allowed to share it anytime soon. menu could been better but im quite satisfied with result video.

dvd time is 60min 12secs and video bitrate is 9800kbps VBR

I made it from 2 versions that was possible to get from ZDF and was possible to keep original quality of video material.

Its possible it will be uploaded to megaupload splitted in 500mb parts (4gb total) instead of making torrent.

Megaupload and torrent is OK for me and I imagine, also to the other people. But i can't clearly understand your message. Is the DVD finished or do you need something in which we may help you?

About uploading to Megaupload, which software will you use to split files?
