I just pressed play and I'm frankly impressed. Is it a whole performance of Incantations as a trio? May you add some information about this version and your performance? Thanks for sharing it!

Hello there, and thank you for the warm welcome.

Yes, this is a complete performance of Incantations, reduced down from the massive orchestral arrangement to a very difficult arrangement for piano, trombone, and bass guitar. I knew that Mike had played Incantations live, but he left so many parts out, I wanted to perform the whole album and play all the parts live that he never played before. I commissoioned an English music transcriptionist, Ryan Yard, to transcribe the full band score, notated for the original instruments. I then arranged the score myself for the instruments you see in this video. It was really difficult as I had to play things like flute parts which were never intended to be played on piano. Our version runs a bit shorter than the original due to the faster tempos (pure adrenaline of the performance had us all excited) and we also segued all 4 movements, playing them all as 1 long piece of music.

I've seen Amarok live some weeks ago on youtube and your job, Jason and yours, is FANTASTIC. This time, as Amarok performance, the job is GREAT. It's very complicated to do it and I'm happy for it. It's nice to see Mike's fan playing his music so good. Here in Spain there are other fans who play nice too, and they are in youtube and in this forum too .
